TV size refers to its diagonal length, to get this number you can dig out your tape and measure from the upper left-hand corner of the actual TV screen to the lower right-hand corner, leaving the border. “Inch” is commonly used.

 

Then measure the distance between your sitting area to the place that you are going to put your TV. For instance, let’s just say the distance is 66 inches, then divide it by 1.2, now you know you should get a 55” TV.

 

But it’s worth to tell that this number is just an indication and not the only factor to consider when buying a TV. You can always go for other sizes depending on your needs.
